The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) gives credence and distinction to local government units with exemplary performance, having passed all the 10 assessment areas. For CY 2022, 15 LGUS from Region XI were bestowed with this most-sought after recognition during the awarding ceremony held on December 15, 2022 at the Manila Hotel, Manila City. These include:

                   Provinces               : Davao Province of Davao del Norte, and Province of Davao Oriental  

                   Cities                     : Island Garden City of Samal, Mati City, and Digos City

                   Municipalities          : LGUs of the Province of Davao de Oro    : Maragusan, Monkayo, and New Bataan

                                                  LGUs of the Province of Davao Oriental        : Banaybanay, Lupon, and San Isidro

                                                  LGUs of the Province of Davao del Sur     : Bansalan, Matanao, and Sulop

                                                  LGU of the Province of Davao Occidental    : Don Marcelino

Aside from the marker, these LGUs received the following SGLG Incentive Funds for any development projects they have identified – Php 9,500,000.00 for the provinces; Php7,000,000.00 for the component cities; and Php 5,000,000 for the municipalities.

To resolve issues concerning the utilization of SGLG IF, a regional roll-out of on the policy as embodied in Memorandum Circular 2023-019 dated 31 January 2023, entitled, “Operational Guidelines on the implementation of the FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund” was held last February 28- March 1, 2023 at the Apo View Hotel, Davao City. It was Participants were the DILG Provincial Directors, DILG Cluster Heads, and representatives from the SGLG awardee-LGUs.
