The DILG XI conducts Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) annually to raise the appreciation and support of DILG personnel on the Department efforts to promote gender equality, inclusivity, and protection and fulfillment of women’s and children’s rights. It is one of the regional office’s efforts to increase the awareness, appreciation, and support of DILG XI officials and personnel on GAD-related activities and initiatives.
For year 2023, the DILG XI conducted a GST for the newly hired employees, composed of both technical and administrative positions. A portion of the participants included Contract-of-Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) personnel.
The aforementioned activity entitled: โGender Sensitivity: A Seminar for Promoting Diversity, Inclusivity, Equality, and Respectโ, took place at the Star Hotel, Mabini Street in Davao City on November 15โ16, 2023. The main goals of the program are to enable DILG staff to become more gender-sensitive individuals and to foster a gender-aware, gender-sensitive, and gender-responsive work environment.
The Integrated Gender and Development Division (IGDD) of LGU Davao City, headed by Ms. Lorna B. Mandin, was the principal resource person of the training. The training consisted of instructor-led and interactive discussions, group activities and workshops, and sharing of experiences and ideas.
