The Department of the Interior and Local Government Region XI (DILG XI), in partnership with the Province of Davao Oriental, successfully hosted the “Usapang Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA)” event on June 28, 2024, in the City of Mati, Davao Oriental. The event featured Asec. Lilian M. De Leon, Assistant Secretary for International Relations, as the guest of honor.

The event began with a series of morning activities designed to promote health and unity among participants. A Fun Run kickstarted the day, followed by an energetic Zumba session and the highlight of the morning, the BIDA dance. These activities saw the enthusiastic participation of 1,050 individuals from various organizations, including DILG, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Philippine Army (PA), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Local Resource Institute – Davao Oriental State University (LRI-DORSU), the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental (PGDO), City and Municipal Local Government Units (C/MLGUs), and other partner agencies.

Part 2 of the event was dedicated to the “Usapang BIDA” session, an informative and interactive discussion focused on drug prevention and community well-being. This session was attended by 120 participants from DILG, PNP, PDEA, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Provincial, City, and Municipal Local Government Units (P/C/MLGUs), and other partner agencies.
