In a proactive move towards enhancing disaster resilience, a significant 2-day event titled “Regional Flooding, Earthquake and Rain-induced Landslides Dialogue Series Towards Resilient Dabawenyos sa Bagong Pilipinas” took place on July 10-11, 2024, at Emilia Hall, Arman’s Restaurant, Tagum City, Davao del Norte. This gathering convened key stakeholders including local government unit (LGU) governors, mayors, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (PDRRMO), Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (LDRRMO), and various National Government Agencies (NGAs).

The primary objective of the dialogue series was to address the top two hazards affecting the region: flooding and landslide. These natural calamities pose significant threats to the local communities and infrastructure, necessitating coordinated efforts among LGUs (Local Government Units), the RDRRMC XI, and various member agencies.

LGUs presented their issues and concerns to the RDRRMC XI member agencies to seek assistance, lay down plans and programs, and to create a resolution that will amend or establish a new policy in the future.
