The DILG Region XI – LGMED successfully concluded the CY 2024 Roll-out on Strengthening the Institutional Capacities of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (SICAP-BADAC) for Barangays on September 3, 2024. The event gathered a total of 173 participants, including Punong Barangays, Sangguniang Barangay Members, Barangay Secretaries, and representatives from 74 drug-affected barangays in Davao City.
The event began with a day of intensive learning and capacity building, with DIRI III NARAVY D DUQUITAN, Regional Director of PDEA XI, delivering the opening remarks. PMAJ MELANIE HERMOSISIMA, Assistant Chief of RCADD, PNP-PRO XI, provided a comprehensive discussion on Barangay Information Gathering and Reporting for the BADAC Watch List, while IA I MA CRESEBEL G ROMA, Regional Team Leader of BDCP, PDEA XI, presented the critical aspects of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program. Special recognition was given to LGOO VI Jade M. Baylon, ADAC Focal Person of DILG Davao City, for the unwavering support throughout the conduct of the activity.
The SICAP-BADAC 3.0 program emphasizes the importance of intelligence gathering at the barangay level to strengthen the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS). The event concluded with Gale Marie S. Gravador, Finance and Administrative Division Chief of DILG XI, underscoring the importance of sustained efforts in the fight against illegal drugs.
