Two Barangays from Davao Region Hailed as National Winners in the recent Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) National Awarding Ceremony
Manila, Philippines (November 7, 2024) โ Barangay Rizal, Bansalan, Davao del Sur, celebrated a historic triumph at the recent Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) National Awarding Ceremony, held at the prestigious Manila Hotel. The barangay, known for its consistent excellence in dispute resolution, was hailed as the National Winner under the 1st to 3rd Municipality Category, marking a significant milestone in its Journey towards peace and harmony, recognizing its exceptional efforts in promoting peace and harmony. The barangay under the strong leadership of Lupon Chairman Danilo R. Soberano, secured a P300,000 cash prize and trophy, a testament to its unwavering dedication to peaceful conflict resolution.
After securing the 1st Runner-Up position in the previous two years, Barangay Rizal’s unwavering dedication to promoting peaceful conflict resolution has finally paid off. This year, their exemplary performance and innovative approaches to community mediation set them apart from other contenders, earning them the coveted National Winner title.
In another significant achievement, Barangay Tibungco, Davao City, made its debut as a national nominee, secured the 2nd Runner-Up position and a P200,000 cash prize under the leadership of Lupon Chair Merjade Deles Calvo. This recognition highlights the growing number of barangays committed to strengthening their Lupong Tagapamayapa.
The LTIA, an annual event organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), recognizes and rewards barangays that excel in implementing the Katarungang Pambarangay Law. By honoring these outstanding barangays, the DILG aims to inspire others to prioritize peaceful conflict resolution and community development.
