3rd Regional Disaster Preparedness Committee Meeting Successfully Conducted

The 3rd Regional Disaster Preparedness Committee Meeting was held on September 9, 2025, at The Apo View Hotel, bringing together key stakeholders and partner agencies committed to advancing disaster resilience in Region XI.

The activity was graced by DILG XI Division Chief, LGOO VI Phillen C. Larrabaster, and Assistant Division Chief, LGOO VI Maria Ruby B. Batingal, under the leadership of Regional Director Abdullah V. Matalam and Assistant Regional Director Charissa T. Guerta, CESO V.

Presided over by Planning Unit Chief, PO III Edgar V. Melo, with DRR Focals Atty. Shermin Mae C. Monteza-Simbanagan and RPO II Ralphkin T. Jimenez, the meeting gathered representatives from Thematic Area II member agencies, including DILG Davao Oriental DRR Focal CLGOO Jeremias A. Sacapaño, Jr., DILG Davao del Sur DRR Focal LGOO II Marl Dave Dwight T. Torres, and Davao CDRRMO and PDRRMOs across Region XI.

Highlights included the presentation of 3rd quarter accomplishments, sharing of plans and initiatives, and identification of upcoming activities to strengthen community preparedness.

This collective effort reflects the region’s continuing commitment to building safer and more resilient communities.
