ON-SITE INSPECTION OF THE STRUCTURED CABLING PROJECT, ON-SITE ASSESSMENT ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF BIMS IN DAVAO DEL SUR AND DAVAO DEL NORTE, AND OTHER ICT-RELATED ACTIVITIES WITH ISTMS

The conduct of BIMS implementation assessment in the selected barangays of Davao del Sur and Davao del Norte.

DILG Region XI, through its Regional Information and Communications Technology Unit (RICTU), together with the Information Systems and Technology Management Service (ISTMS) of the DILG Central Office successfully conducted a five-day field assessment and technical engagement held on July 27–31, 2026.

The activity commenced with a courtesy call and briefing with Regional Director Abdullah V. Matalam, followed by an inspection of the Structured Cabling Project at the newly constructed DILG Regional Office XI Building to ensure compliance with national ICT standards and infrastructure quality.

The joint team then proceeded to Barangays Poblacion Dos, New Clarin, and Buenavista in Bansalan, Davao del Sur to evaluate IT infrastructure readiness, local data workflows, and the operational utilization of the implemented Barangay Information Management System (BIMS). The activity also included discussions on existing ICT systems of LGU Bansalan, documentation of user feedback, and the introduction of the Document Management System for Local Government Units (DMS4LGUs)—a digital solution designed to streamline document management, strengthen records security, reduce paper-based processes, and improve internal workflows in local government offices. The BIMS implementation assessment continued in Barangays Toril and San Miguel in the Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCOS), Davao del Norte.

As part of the week-long activity, the team conducted technical discussions on Data Quality and Data Privacy compliance. Technical assistance was likewise provided to address connectivity challenges and optimize ICT resources across the covered local government units.

The five-day activity concluded with a synthesis and way forward session, reaffirming the DILG Central Office’s continued commitment to supporting DILG Region XI in advancing secure, reliable, and innovative ICT solutions. The initiative highlights the Department’s sustained efforts to strengthen digital governance and enhance the delivery of public services.
