DILG XI Honors Outstanding LGUs in 2024 Regional POC and ADAC Performance Awards

DILG Region XI proudly spearheaded the 2024 Peace and Order Council (POC) and Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards on October 25, 2024, at the Apo View Hotel, Davao City, honoring local government units (LGUs) in the Davao Region for their outstanding dedication to upholding peace, maintaining public safety, and combating illegal drugs in their communities. The event underscored the vital role of local governance in driving positive change and ensuring a safer environment for all.

The event was attended by DILG XI Officials, Local Chief Executives, Local Functionaries, Cluster Heads, City/Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs), HUC/Provincial POC and ADAC focal persons, Regional Audit Committee (RAC) members, specifically PDEA XI, BFP XI, PNP-PRO XI, the 10th Infantry Division, Ateneo de Davao University as the Civil Society Organization (CSO) partner, and representatives.

The ceremony opened with insightful message from DILG XI RD Abdullah V. Matalam, who commended the unwavering commitment of the LGUs in fulfilling their mandates and highlighted the significance of unity. Also, the DILG XI is privileged to have BLGS Director Debie T. Torres, CESO IV, who delivered a message of support, recognizing the collaborative efforts that contribute to the overall success of peace and order programs in the region. The awards celebrated 54 LGUs, with 53 high functional and 1 moderate functional in the POC functionality audit, and 43 high functional and 11 moderate functional in the ADAC performance audit, for their remarkable efforts and accomplishments. Moreover, in recognition of their dedication during the audit process, the DILG XI HUC/Provincial Directors, Field Officers, and RAC members were also awarded certificates of recognition for their invaluable support and commitment.

The program concluded with closing remarks from DILG XI Officer-in-Charge ARD Charissa T. Guerta, CESO V, who commended the commitment of the LGUs and encouraged continued collaborative efforts to maintain excellence in local governance. With this recognition, DILG XI reinforces its commitment to fostering partnerships, advocating for best practices, and sustaining collective efforts to promote peace, public safety, and anti-drug initiatives across the region. The event not only celebrated the accomplishments of the awardees but also inspired others to continue the mission of building resilient and progressive communities.
