DILG Recognized the Banaybanay Civil Society Organization (CSO) Academy as One of the Five Pioneer CSO Academies in the Country
The DILG recognized the Banaybanay Civil Society Organization (CSO) Academy as one of the five pioneer CSO Academies in the country during the National CSO Conference, held on September 17-18, 2024, at the Royce Hotel, Clark, Pampanga.
Municipality of Banaybanay Councilor Racquel L. Sanlucan, Banaybanay CSO Network President Jimmy V. Norberte, and Davao Oriental State University – Banaybanay Campus Administrator Dr. Analie B. Nemenzo together with DILG XI Regional Director Abdullah V. Matalam received the Plaques of Recognition and Appreciation handed over by DILG Assistant Secretary Josephine C. Leysa, CESO III and Bureau of Local Government Supervision Director Debie T. Torres, CESO IV.
DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos graced the National CSO Conference 2024, attended by 1,500 participants, which aimed to highlight the remarkable progress and success in strengthening programs for meaningful participation of CSOs at the local level. The main goal was to recognize CSO initiatives that are leading the way in improving citizen participation in local governance.
Leaders of various civil society organizations of Region XI together with DILG XI Regional Director Abdullah V. Matalam, Assitant Director Lailyn A. Ortiz, LGMED Chief Phillen C. Larrbaster and DMO IV Joel Jr. M. Accion participated in the learning sessions during the said CSO conference.
