The Joint Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (JRTF-ELCAC) XI was successfully convened on February 28, 2024, at the Apo View Hotel, Camus St., Davao City.

It was the first JRTF-ELCAC XI meeting presided over by Secretary Leo Tereso A. Magno, Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao and Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security for Region XI. Secretary Magno demonstrated collaborative and transformational leadership in convening the JRTF-ELCAC XI composed of the Regional Development Council and Regional Peace and Order Council, to discuss and harmonize peace, security, and development efforts in the region.

Vice President Sara Z. Duterte also graced the meeting and highlighted the importance of the ELCAC Task Force in addressing insurgency and advancing peace and development. VP Duterte together with Undersecretary Ernesto C Torres Jr, led the awarding of the National Task Force-ELCAC Gawad Parangal to the JRTF-ELCAC XI, Police Regional Office XI, and 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, for their outstanding contribution to ending the local communist armed conflict in the Davao Region.
